Episode 8 - 12

Episode 8
"Do You Believe In Spirits?"
So... My best friend was now in Iraq... As far as I was concerned, Dead Woman's Crossing was, well, dead... at least until Justin came back. A few weeks before, I had filmed a movie called, "The Disturbed".  Anyway, the film deals with the real events of Justin and I and some made up stuff with another friend, Russell Neasbitt. The film wasn't a masterpiece but was an experience none the less. December 25, 2003 I showed my brother-in-law and his wife the movie. He said, "I didn't know that you were into that?" He started asking me a lot of questions about the legend. He had heard the stories but a lot of what he heard was a distortion of the truth. I had the facts from a book called, 'Haunted America'. Justin and I had also done some research. He was excited and asked if I wanted to go out there. I hesitated. I really didn't know him all that well. I had only been married to my wife for only a year. I thought, what the hell. This might be a good chance to get to know him.

Episode 9
"The Remains of an Old Bridge"
The previous night we filmed Episode 8. The next day I was beat. We stayed up until god knows when. It was December 26, 2003. It was well past 4:00pm. Suddenly there was a knock at my door. It was my brother-in-law, Jody. He was still excited from the night before. He said, "Do you want me to show you the bridge?"  I really didn't want to go out. The night before it was just too dark to get a look. See, Justin and I had a lot of the facts down about the murder except one thing... And it was right under our noses the whole time! It was remnants from the actual bridge from the early 1900's where Mrs. Katie James died near-by. This bridge is the name sake of the legend! So, I guess I was a little excited. Join us as I finally get my first glance at a century old bridge!

Dead Woman's Crossing - Episode 9

Episode 10
"Third Times A Charm?"
The excitement was still pumping through Jody's veins. He wanted to see a ghost! It just seemed the longer he stayed the more he realized that something was lurking beyond the shadows. So, in effect we didn't get out of the car as much in this episode. To be honest I was about Dead Woman'd out. Within a twenty-four hour's time we had shot hours of footage. I was about ready for a break. I imagine the ghost of Katie James probably did as well. This is the last time that I have been out to Dead Woman's with my brother-in-law, Jody. I think I scared him... ***The Quality seriously lacks in this episode since the master tape had either been taped over or lost.  This was captured from a 2nd generation VHS.  Lucky I at least backed it up to that.

Episode 11
"Two Cameras Are Better Than One"
The whole purpose of this episode was to try something that I had previously never done. I wanted to use two cameras at the same time. I had my old camera, an analog Sony Hi8mm and a Sony D8mm. I decided to bring someone new this time. So, I chose my step-brother Tyler. He really didn't know much about the legend and probably didn't care. That's why I thought he would be a good choice to bring out. Once we made it to the bridge, Tyler came up with a brilliant idea. He wanted to drive his truck down the hill close to the river bed. What he didn't know is that we were about to get stuck down there...

Episode 12
"Seems Like Old Times"

*1905-2005*
This marks the 100th Anniversary of when Mrs. James was murdered. They're back!!! Justin and James that is. Justin finished his time with the Marine Corps. and was able to return home. It was great to see my friend again. I had prayed for his safety for many months and now he was safe at home. It was January of 2005. It was a very special year. It marked the 5th anniversary of our first trip to Dead Woman's Crossing and the 100th anniversary of when Mrs. Katie James was murdered. Before we went out we did a special commentary track for many of the episodes of the past. We also wanted to go and venture to a special little bridge...
